Tuesday Toot #1

This is my first time doing this so please forgive me if I am not doing it good enough.
Well, I guess I can give myself a pat on the back for learning to cook.
I got married at 24 years old and at the beginning years of the marriage we lived with my mother-in-law.
There I did not have to do anything at all as she has a domestic helper.
Cooking, housework, laundry... I did not have to do at all ... not even to tidy our desk.
So I concentrated on my work...teaching.
After two years of "doing nothing", we finally got our own home.
When we moved, I was also pregnant with my first princess ... I was tired and hence dinners were settled outside.
When my princess, Ash, was borned, we continued eating dinner out as my husband (lovingly called Superpig here) felt that being a SAHM can be rather daunting for me and would want to reduce the stress by not having me cook.
Ash quickly learned that when the sky turned dark, it was time to go out and she would throw a terrible tantrum when we did not.
We realised that it was not a very good idea to eat out all the time as the food can be rather oily and salty.
So I started to learn to cook simple dishes with the steamer.
I started with steamed fish and boiled vegetables.
6 years later, I dare say that I am a better cook then before.
I started learning to bake about two years ago and totally enjoyed it.
However, baking is not something I can do frequently as I do not really eat my own bakes no matter how good Superpig said it was.
I also started to learn to do frying and deep frying because I was and still am terrified of the splattering oil.
I also become more adventurous in the way I combined the ingredients and come up with new dishes.
However, I am still a rather lazy cook ... I only choose to cook dishes that can be eaily completed in less than 20 minutes.
Still, I have managed to feed my Superpig and princesses without poisoning them
That to me is an achievement.
