F1 Race is here in Singapore!

Superpig is down for "voluntary duty" this weekend while the race proceed.

However, he was no where near the tracks ... so he grumbled and mumbled ... I grumbled and mumbled too. As he will be on duty on both Saturday and Sunday from 6 p.m. till 2 a.m.

His job was to monitor the traffic outside the race track to ensure that there is no massive jam.

Anyway, he just called home and guess what... He is able to catch a glimpse of the fast cars!

ARHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH....
Well, at least it will allow him to feel better while on duty.
As for me... well, he called and let us hear the passing Ferraris!!!!!!!!!!!
VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!

Guess we will just have to be happy with our races at home.

A digital scrap page

Finally after a long long break from scrapbooking digitally, I completed this in the afternoon.
This is Ash when she was 8 months old... so chubby.
And see how cheerful she is.
Can you see a little of Aver in her too?
We always feel that Aver looks like her, just smaller in size.
Here are some pictures that I took this month with my handphone.
A wonderful sunset while waiting for Superpig to get off work.

A beautiful one of my three biggest love in my life.

Aver and her toy cars... she seems to have a craze for fast and red cars.
Aver "bullying" her favourite cuddling pal, Rattlehead Tigger.

Lovely sisters... my princesses.

A good smiley one of the princess with the superhero.

Toilet break after working hard on her homework. (Yes, Ash had to wear glasses already.)

I have a fetish over spiral staircases.

Nice hidden corner atTiong Bahru (or at least hidden from us who do not usually go there.)

Till the next time, please stay well and enjoy your weekend.

On the crafting front...

A simple drawstring bags for the kiddos at Aver's childcare...

(Still got about like ten more to go...)

The boys are getting the green ones and the girls the red one.

Here I am trying on the cuteness and totally disgusted Superpig!

Now, the great debate... What animal is that on the fabric?

I say it is a moose cos it kind of look like one...hee hee hee

Others say it is a hippo... well, it looks like a hippo too...

A hippo? A moose? Whatever... it is a cute fabric!

On a happier note...

Depression is depressing.
Fighting it is ongoing.
Overcoming it is rewarding.
Carelessness to it is damaging.
Depression can be defeated with willpower!

On a lighter and happier note, I enjoyed my weekend (Saturday, that is... Sunday, I was sick and slept the whole day through... but it was not that bad too.)

Saturday evening, our family went the the Chinese Garden. It has a month long of celebration for the Mid-Autumn Festival. Upon entering the parking lot (we had not even went into the place yet!), what I saw sent me squealing like a six year old. When my two princeses saw me so excited, they started to squeal and clapped. Superpig shook his head at the three of us... I think he must be regretting bringing us there.

Now... I will let the photographs tell you why we were all so excited...

Before the sun went down

When the sun went down...

Now, aren't the displays simply too cute to be digested?

Friday, September 19, 2008

I was looking through the photos that I had taken recently and it occured to me that I had not been taking much pictures of the nature, i.e. flowers. It then dawned on me that I had been so preoccupied with trying to get things done on the homefront and battling with the oncoming depression that I totally did not see anything beautiful.

I am not trying to get any attention from this post just trying to pen down my thoughts, for those who are going"tsk..tsk.. tsk.. there she goes again... whine whine whine".

Oh yes, that was what one particular mother sort of implied when I ranted and vented at a particular mothers' forum.

Anyway, with the many things going around here, I felt the weights on my shoulders and it got heavier by the day. And my moods went down real fast, so I knew that depression is setting in. However, I want to say that I managed to keep it away.

I am not depressed (yet... and have no intention to)!

I am well and am on the way to get myself perked up.

The last few weeks, I refused to look atmyself in the mirror or anything that will bear my reflection. It bothers me a lot. The person I saw in the mirror is tired, dark, sad... I was so shocked! (I do not even have a picture to show you how bad I looked.)

Now that I am better, I am working on keeping up my appearance. Make-up everyday...that will be powder and lipstick. Just a little dash of colour on the lips and I look better.

Then there is the weight issue... no, I have not successfully lost any weight since the last time I mentioned about it. I am still trying to struggle with time management. It is almost impossible to head out to exercise as the girls demand so much of my attention. But I do have that U-Robic at home which was bought for the sole purpose of helping me shape up AT HOME!

So I am determined to refresh my memories and refresh my soul ...

Depression is a very scary thing and it is a long and hard battle. One may be on the way of recovery but when you get careless, it comes back and grabs you hard! I fight my battles and I fight them well!

Now, I look forward to the projects that I had planned.

1. Bags for Children's Day (We celebrate Children's Day on 1 September, so I am making soem bags for Aver's classmates)

2. Hairbands for Ash's classmates (Ash is in an all-girls school so it is easy to decide what to make for them)

You may be asking why am I making these stuff for the children...well, i don't know too. Just that it is fun to get some crafts done and I like to give. The simple joy of sharing and seeing the little ones happy.)

3. Planning for Ash's and Aver's birthdays

For those who do not know... Ash and Aver is conceived on the same day five years apart. Ash was borned on 14 Decemeber and Aver was borned on 16 December... and I must note that I was borned on 7 Decemeber...

4. Get my butts working on the uRobic!

5. Contniue with my writings.

6. Simply be happy!

So I leave you with, what I personally think, a happy and nice picture of me.

And a prayer to God...

Dear Lord,

Thank you for watching over me when I was in the dark.

Thank you for holding on to me firmly and not letting me fall.

Although I had questioned the many things that happened and why was I always being put on the test, I knew You did not forget me.

I pray for Your forgiveness when my faith was weak and when I ran away from You.

Now, I pray that I will be able to face each day with the strength that You provide me.

With Your armour over me, I can and will be able to stand up to any battle and seek victory in Your Name.

Amen.

Mid Autumn Festival

Although it is a far cry from autumn here in sunny island but well it is a traditional chinese festival that we celebrate every year with mooncakes and lanterns.

Aver's childcare had a celebration last Friday evening.
Events for the evening...
1. Shadow show about the legendary lady in the moon.

2. Guess the mooncakes' flavours. (Aver gave it a try too... and shuddered as it was too sweet for her. At least she did not spit it out.)

3. Jigsaw puzzle assembly contest (Our group came in first.)

4. Pomelo peeling contest (which reminded me that Superpig had not bought any for this festival.)

5. Chinese tea making demonstration by teacher.

6. Time to eat!

7. Lastly, a lantern walk around the block. (Aver walked 80% of the way and totally enjoyed it.)

Ash was there too... she enjoyed the lantern walk too. Superpig had to work late and only managed to appear when it was time to eat.

Overall, the kids enjoyed themselves. I hoped I had not been such an introvert and had tried to talk to parents from Aver's class... but I really am too much of an introvert who always ends up saying the wrong thing.

I must say a big thank you to all the teachers in Aver's school. They did put in a lot of effort for the evening.

Here's a nice pix of Aver with her teacher.

An idea...

Here is what I have been brewing in my head for quite awhile...

I have always loved to read and always love the way the stories unfold as they go along.

I have always been very good at spinning tales for composition writing when I was in school however, my grammar sucks!

Despite my lousy grammar, I like to write... that is why I started blogging.

However, blogging is more of diary entries that I note down day to day stuff in my mundane life but I want to write something that is frictional... creative writing!

Ahem... but I do not know how creative my writing can be.

Still, I am going to give it a shot!

So, I am inviting my dear friends, yes... that is you, to come to another my writing blog where I spin stories for the young ones.

Feel free to tell me how you feel about the stories, my grammar and so on. I love to hear your comments so that I can improve in it.

I will start with the first installment of the current story that I am spinning up...

New books, violin performance and new swimming pool

I had ordered a few books a few months ago in a spree and I finally got round to collecting it (or actually the lady decided to send it by post to me...). Anyway, I got them and was very very glad that I had ordered them. Love the book by Soulemama... it is time to re-organise the children's room.

Last night, Ash had a violin performance... not solo though. Her teacher had orgainised an informal performance of all his students. Ash did not want to join in at the beginning and because of this performance, she also almost gave up on the journey of learning this instrument. However, her teacher told her that she was doing very well and should just go and enjoy the night.

Well, she went and threw a little tantrum at the beginning but after awhile she was alright. Then she started to make a few friends and sort of went a little out of hand. Anyway, the performance went quite well. Although, there is one particular song that she got lost but I think she did well enough.

This is her in the afternoon rehearsing.

And this is her in the evening doing the actual thing.

This morning, it was swimming at our newly opened swimming pool that is a few blocks away. Her formal swimming coach decided to start lesson for her and another girl at this new pool this morning ... so off we went to the pool at 8 a.m.

Aver and Ash seemed to enjoyed themselves despite the cold waters. I like the pool too and most importantly, it is near home. Since it is a Saturday, the pool is crowded!

The pool at about 8.30 a.m.

Aver enjoying it before her lesson.

Aver soaking in the fun.

And the last few show Aver as the boss ...

A good book, tea and a studying princess

It is the term break this week for Ash but Aver's childcare function as usual.

Rather than driving all the way back after dropping Aver at school, Ash and I hung out at the nearest mall.

After breakfast, Ash had to complete her school homework and a little other work in preparation for the final year examination.
I, on the other hand, read my book and helped her along with her work.
We were there for almost four hours ... phew!
Tomorrow, it will be the same. (At least, I saved on the petrol...)
