Sunday walk

Superpig had to organise an outing for his division at work. A few of his colleagues suggested trekking up Mount Faber. (For my darling friends overseas, Mount Faber is nowhere near a mountain, it will most probably be more like a hill in your countries' context.)

So he had to go and have a look at what there is to offer so that he can plan a nice trekking route for everyone. Myself and the princesses went along with him ... how can we leave him to have all the fun?

And really... my legs are still aching at this very moment. Although we did the walk the day before.

When we reached and was about to step out into the sun... it started to drizzle.

So we took an indoor picture before heading for the nearby mall to feed the baby and wait for the rain to stop.

After the baby had been fed and the rain had stopped, we set off into the wilderness again.But now we are armed with strawberry and chocolate milkshakes for Ash and myself (Superpig bought them specially for us.)

Oh.. and do you notice the steps behind Superpig? Well, that is only at the beginning of the trek. There is a long stretch up and we climbed it. I did it too ... with the baby in arms. As I huffed and puffed my way up, she looked at me and started giggling away.

Once we are done with the steps, I get to put the baby down and let her do a little walking with her sister.

Aren't they cute?

A few shots of the view...

Cable cars leading to the nearby island, Sentosa.
A view of our busy busy port.
A view of the skyscrapers at our business hub.

Then there is us with the flowers...

From here onwards, we headed towards Henderson Waves.

We had finally reached Henderson Waves!

It is a rather nice bridge but I fail in the area of photography at the moment. Maybe, when I join Superpig and his division for the outing, I will try again.

After Henderson Waves, we went on to the Forest Walk...

It reminds me of Tahune Airwalk in Tasmania (but the view fall short of what Tasmania had to offer)... Oh, I so miss Tasmania.

Okay... I will end this post here as I am facing some probelms with connection.

Will continue soon.

Crafting update

I did mention in the previous post about me going back to work and thank you for the kind encouragements. I hope I can get into the swing of things fast.

For the crafting front, I did these...
1. Coloured pencils roll
2. Wristbags
3. Notebook cover
4. Key fobs
5. A smorket

For items 1 to 4, you can go to Wencrafting to have a look.

As for item 5, I need to include buttons and buttonhole (which I have no idea how to do it...).

I need a little more time to work out how I should be blogging...

Time... time... time... can I have an extra three hours, please?

Working out of home...

It has been rather quiet here because I am back at work.
My working hours although are not long (like 4.5 hours every day), I miss my girls a lot and really wish I can stay home with them.
I am still trying to get use to working out of home... well, at least I do have more adult human contact.
I am also trying to get use to being out of the house and returning home without feeling tired out.
I need to plan how to spend the time after work with my daughters.

Getting to work along with the normal working crowd was kind of daunting at the beginning. I never thought that I would need to squeeze into a crowded MRT train with hordes of commuters but now I do. Because the train is always so crowded I find it difficult to read during the journey so I took to observing the fellow commuters or I simply peeked into the newspaper my neighbour commuter was reading.

As for work, I have not gotten my actual time-table and my group of students yet so I am just hopping around doing some relieving roles.

As for my darlings, they are coping.
Ash does not have any problem as she is off to school before I go to work and back slightly earlier than me.
Aver has been a rather good girl. I am just glad that my mother is the one looking after her.
Although I end my work at 1 p.m. , I had to stay out till around 3 p.m. just so that the little one can take her nap. She is a light sleeper and will wake up when she hears the door open. Hence, I make sure I reach home after she has at least an hour of nap.

During this time, I will be out eating my lunch and shopping which is rather bad for my pocket, hence I will be finding a good spot to read.

Time alone to read at a proper place is good as I have been reading whilst in the bathroom for the past two years and that is kind of depressing.

Now, on the crafting news... I will update in the next post as it is time for dinner making.

Re-organising, knitting and new shoes...

My boxes of craft things... these does not include my fabric stash...(faint!)
See how bad I am with my stuff? I have quite a lot of tidying to do and this is only part one...

I re-organised them and put them into need boxes.

These boxes will return to the shelves in the store room.

I decided to teach Ash how to knit...

There she is... trying very hard.

It is tedious for her and after a few rows, the needles are left on the dining table.

Guess she doesn't enjoy crafting as much as me.

Lastly, I prettified a pair of white canvas mary janes.

Just to update on the stuff I have done in the past two days.

Enjoy your weekend!

An Award...

Suzanne from Create Fun And Mess gave me an award.

The Arte y Pico Award

Thank you Suzanne, I am honoured.
"This prize has arisen from the daily visits that I dedicate to many blogs which nourish me and enrich me with creativity. In them I see dedication, creativity, care, comradeship, but mainly, ART, much art.
I want to share this prize with all those bloggers that entertain me day to day and to share this prize with those who enrich me every day.
Doubtlessly, there are many and it will be hard to pick just a few, the people I will name today deserve this prize, as do the very long serious list of bloggers I also enjoy to read, but I will name the first 10 and will leave the rest of the work to all the bloggers that visit other's blogs and are nourished by them."
~~~~~
There are 5 rules for this award:
1. Choose 5 blogs you consider deserving of this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and contribution to the blogging community regardless of the language.
2. Each award should have the name of the author and a link to his/her blog to be visited by everyone.
3. Each award winner should show the award and put the name and link to the blog that presented him/her with the award. I know it says this is a rule but I also know that not everyone likes to do this. I won't be hurt if you don't.
4. The award winner and the one who has given the award should show the Arte Y Pico blog so everyone will know the origin of this award.
5. Show these rules.
And I, in turn give this award to:
A Spoonful of Sugar by Lisa and Sarah, a mother and daughter pair of bloggers. I wish one day my daughter will join me in my crafting joy and blog along wit me too.
Things I've Made by Floresita. Love her embroidery and her work inspires me to improve on my embroidery.
House On Hill Road by Erin Harris. I started to seriously sewing clothes for my daughters after reading her tutorial for the sunny day dress and ever since then, I have been returning to her blog.
My Culinary Journal by Peony. I love her bentos and recipes, so much love in it. I aspire to one day prepare such nice bentos for my family too. (Cooking and baking and bento making is also a form of art...yes?)
Tree Fall by Manda. I fell in love with her pin cushions and had been lurking at her blog ever since.
Thanks again Suzanne...
Let us go to the zoo... zoo... zoo
Finally... we made it to the zoo!
The weather was good although it did had a dark cloud here and there but it did not rain.
We renewed our membership and really... we really get so agitated with the packages they offered.
I think we took about twenty minutes sitting there deciding which package is more suitable.
Anyway, we renewed and in we went to the world of the animals.
It was crowded today... way too crowded to my comfort but still I think we did enjoy ourselves.
I took the opportunity to take photos ...
There were us...
There were some of the animals... oh.. and babies too. Seems like there is a baby boom in the zoo.
There were the Flintstones...
There were flowers and insects...
Clouds of yesterday ...
It is just another normal day but the sky is clear.
No rain.
So by evening, I managed to get these...
And lastly, a favourite photo I took of Aver.
My Etsy Shop
Yes... I set it up already.
I made more of the zipped purses so I decided to put it up in Etsy and see what happens.
Go to my crafting blog and there is a link at the sidebar to the shop.
Go visit and tell me what you think.
I don't mind criticisms and comments will boost my confindence.
We are married for 9 years...
Yup... despite the fact that I may be feeling downcast...
07 June 1999, we registered our marriage and officially became husband and wife.
That is us on that day... (ooohhhh.... see how thin I was...reminder to self: GET YOUR BUTTS WORKING!)
And this is us now... (reminder to self: BETTER GET YOUR BUTTS WORKING...SERIOUSLY!!!)
What happened to the washboard tummy and defined jawline???
Anyway, we did not do anything serious to celebrate this day but it is still a good day. Well, it definitely is better than when I was posted the previous post.
You see ... after the post and talking over the phone with Superpig (which I know is not a very good thing as it will affect his work), he decided that I should get out of the house. We did ... he came home and bought us out for dinner and a little shopping at Spotlight last night.
Dinner was great because I stuffed myself full with salmon sashimi ... yummy ... (Superpig actually wanted to give me another round tonight as our anniversary celebration dinner but I decided that it is okay not to have it... there will be another chance.)
We were suppose to do a little shopping (retail therapy... more like clothes suitable for work) but the shops were closing after dinner. Still, I had a little retail therapy at Spotlight and bought a few zippers.
Came home and we were greeted by this cute sight at the backseat when we reach the carpark...
After settling them down for the night, I asked Superpig whether I should start sewing something, anything, just to make myself feel better. He encouraged me to do it. I did at 1130 pm and ended at 0130 am.
The end product...
And I added my personal, my own, unique fabric tag...
I feel so good after crafting.
Today, we bought more zippers for more projects... I definitely am going to make myself feel better.
I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me... thanks for the encouragement and prayers, friends.
Lastly...
Happy 9th ROM Anniversary, Superpig.
